Mentors

A mentor at Foundation Builders Community Center is a positive role model who encourages, supports, and invests in the lives of youth through relationship-building, recreation, education, life-skills development, and community involvement. Mentors help create a safe and encouraging environment where youth can grow in confidence, leadership, teamwork, and responsibility.

Mentors may assist with programs or activities such as sports, fitness, outdoor recreation, nutrition education, tutoring, workshops, or community events. In some cases, mentors may also lead or help develop programs in their area of experience or passion. These roles are typically volunteer-based unless a separate agreement is made for paid classes or specialized instruction.

Because Foundation Builders is a faith-based organization, it is important that mentors align with and support the mission, values, and overall culture of the organization. Mentors help shape the environment and experiences of the youth we serve, so we ask all volunteers and leaders to model respect, integrity, encouragement, and positive behavior consistent with our mission.

Volunteers

A volunteer at Foundation Builders Community Center is someone who gives their time, skills, and support to help serve youth, families, and the community through programs, events, and daily operations. Volunteers play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming, and positive environment where individuals feel encouraged, supported, and connected.

Volunteers may assist with activities such as community events, sports and recreation programs, outdoor activities, youth engagement, food service, setup and cleanup, fundraising efforts, mentorship support, educational workshops, or administrative tasks. Some volunteers may also help organize or lead programs based on their skills, interests, or experience. Volunteer roles are unpaid unless a separate agreement is made for paid instruction or specialized classes.

Because Foundation Builders is a faith-based organization, volunteers are expected to support and respect the mission, values, and overall culture of the organization. Volunteers help represent Foundation Builders within the community and are expected to model respect, integrity, encouragement, teamwork, and positive behavior while serving youth and families.
